What is sales target and incentive software?

Targets drive a pharma sales team, and incentives are how they're rewarded. In many companies both live in spreadsheets: targets sent out at the start of the month, sales collected at the end, and incentives worked out by hand, with disputes to follow.

RxRep keeps targets, sales and incentives together. Managers set monthly targets by person, product and area. Sales are entered weekly and closed at month end, so everyone sees achievement as it builds. Incentive schemes are set up once, with slabs, product rules, caps and deductions, and RxRep works out each person's earnings. Managers can adjust an amount with a reason, and approved incentives go to payroll.

Why do pharma companies need target and incentive software?

  • Targets and incentives worked out in spreadsheets
  • Reps only find out where they stand at month end
  • Incentive disputes because nobody can see the calculation
  • Complex schemes with slabs and caps are error-prone by hand
  • Days lost every month reconciling sales and payouts
